Lights...Vision...Obstacle Course!

Most people don't think of the writer's life as being one of turbulence. Somewhere in the back of the collective subconscience lives that stereotypical vision of the writer toiling away in a cozy little garret, wearing a well-worn cardigan and drinking lots of tea. And, truthfully, that's where I was for a while--in spirit, anyway. Comfy couch, sweat pants, Diet Coke just quietly content. But then, things get rolling...book after book; project juggling; "deadline" feeling more and more literal. Just realizing that I couldn't do this--any of this--without my Lord shouldering so many burdens for me.

He keeps my lamp burning--giving me the energy I need to be a writer and a mother and a teacher and a.... He fuels me with His light and His love and His grace.

I work out at the Spectrum gym, and I love it. Really, everybody there is so natural and normal--you don't feel like you have to get into shape before getting into shape. Does that make sense?

Anyway, the other day I my attention was caught be a sign advertising a new program. A goal-setting thing where you choose to participate for a number of weeks, set your goal for that time period, and in the interim you get assigned accountability partners, you learn new fitness routines, new recipes, etc. I was just thinking this might be the boost I need, when I saw the fine print at the bottom.
